Funeral set for man who drowned off Delray Beach
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Funeral services have been set for a surfer who drowned off the coast of Delray Beach while taking advantage of tropical storm waves.
Florida Atlantic University senior Jason Weinstein died Friday. Police are not sure how the popular rugby player drowned but they don't think the current or undertow played a part.
It's unclear if Weinstein suffered from another medical condition that may have contributed to the accident.
While it was stormy Friday morning waves caused by Tropical Storm Hanna, the biggest waves were still just shoulder-high.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Delray Beach.
