Gov. Crist to speak to media about storms

MIAMI (AP) -- Gov. Charlie Crist will speak to the media in Miami as Hurricane Ike and Tropical Storm Hanna loom in the Atlantic.

Crist will talk at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the emergency operations center.

Officials in the Florida Keys will also begin a mandatory evacuation for all visitors starting Saturday morning as Ike approaches.

The Monroe County Office of Emergency Management says visitors must leave starting at 9 a.m.

A phased evacuation for residents will start Sunday morning. Key West and the lower Keys will be evacuated first. The middle and northern Keys will follow later in the day.
