SUNRISE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a South Florida father after, they said, he accidentally suffocated his daughter and then tried to cover it up.

Sunrise Police arrested Emanuel Lawrence, 30, on Saturday. Officials charged him with aggravated manslaughter of a child, after, police said, he tried to cover up the death of his 7-month-old.

According to police, Lawrence was at home smoking and playing video games with a friend. Later on, Lawrence went to sleep with his 7-month-old and a 3-year-old in the bed with him. When Lawrence woke up he was on top of the baby, who was face down and suffocating.

Police said he then moved the 7-month-old's body to the crib, and then tried to cover it up to a 911 operator and police.

Police are investigating the case and listening to the details of the 911 call.

Lawrence is being held on a bond of $75,000.
